Literary studies, on the other hand, acknowledges that revisions of texts usually bring about improvement. Although this outline may overstate the differences, it aims to help understand why some diaries do not fit well into established patterns of scholarly perception. This paper will focus on a war diary that has experienced all the problems of diary reception in an exemplary way: the literary journal of Marta Hillers.
